3. Music Track Submission Process

Our program is structured to offer both training and experiences in singing and liturgical ensemble playing. Our musical placement process will help us determine the best ways to use your gifts and match you with the appropriate learning experience. These recordings will also help us to determine song selections, solo opportunities, and other liturgical roles.  This is not required for those in the college program who are choosing not to participate in a musical leadership role throughout the week.

Please be sure to follow all of the instructions carefully. The most accurate representation you can provide of your talents and skills will go a long way toward helping us place you correctly.

You may make these videos using your phone, tablet, or computer. If you have any questions or concerns about this process, please contact us.

Returning Students:

New this year, we are making music track submissions optional for students who attended One Call 2022. If you feel you have made significant improvements in your musical skill since last summer that you want team members to consider when determining song selections, solo opportunities and, other liturgical roles, we recommend you complete the music track submission process. If no submission is received by the deadline we will use our knowledge of your skills from last year to assign you.

Instructions for everyone:

The two songs you record and submit must be published by World Library Publications, GIA  Publications, OCP, or Liturgical Press. This is due to copyright and permissions considerations. If you need assistance with this or have any questions or concerns, please let us know.

Submit your videos here: Provide a link by either uploading them to YouTube (you can keep them private), or share the file with us through Google Drive, Dropbox, or iCloud. If you need assistance with this, please contact us. Once our placement process is complete, we will erase this content and will not keep the recordings.

Using the same submission process, you are invited to submit supplemental recordings. Feel free to send any additional footage that you’d like to share. This might be a video clip of you performing in a concert or a play, additional YouTube videos you have made, etc. While we would love to see these, remember that these videos are optional and not required.

Instructions by instrument (use the primary instrument indicated on your application):

For Vocalists: Record a video of you singing two pieces: one setting of a responsorial psalm and one other liturgical song. Your singing should be accompanied by piano, organ, or guitar. If you do not have access to an accompanist, please contact us.

For Keyboard players: Record a video of you playing two pieces: one setting of a responsorial psalm and one other liturgical song. It would be helpful if one of your recordings could feature you accompanying another musician (singer or instrumentalist).

For Guitar players: Record a video of you playing two pieces: one setting of a responsorial psalm and one other liturgical song. It would be helpful if one of your recordings could feature you accompanying another musician (singer or instrumentalist).

For Woodwind, Brass, and String players: Record a video of you playing two pieces: one setting of a responsorial psalm and one other liturgical song. Your playing should be accompanied by piano, organ, or guitar. If you do not have access to an accompanist, please contact us.

For Percussion players: Record a video of you playing two pieces of liturgical music. Your recordings should demonstrate the range of percussion instruments you play (i.e. drum set,  mallets, hand percussion, etc.). Your playing should be accompanied by piano, organ, or guitar.  If you do not have access to an accompanist, please contact us.

Again, we are overjoyed that you will be with us this June! If you have any questions or concerns, please let us know.
